Reports To: Executive Minister for Creative Arts

Compensation: Permanent, Part-Time, Non-Exempt, + Limited Benefits

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The purpose of the Director of Communications is to oversee all aspects of C3 Church communications, including marketing, for services, conferences and other events on the Clayton campus, future Raleigh campus and other off-site locations so that we can pursue our vision to bring real hope to real people in a real world by helping people know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference. He/she is also directly responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating a communications strategy from concept to execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Communications guidance for all internal and external communication (Such as emails, website, posters, road sign, announcements, etc. and working with other marketing outlets)
  • Consult with administration, department managers and vendors to exchange information, present new approaches, and to discuss best practices for Communications
  • Participate in creative team planning and discussions to develop strategy and drive execution from planning to execution for all communications
  • Create and maintain an annual Communications budget
  • Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the development of all Communications
  • Work closely with the Executive Minister for Creative Arts to establish best practices and recommend equipment & software solutions to accomplish the church’s ministry objectives
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Communications scheduling, production, problem-solving and managing Dream Team members involved on the Communications team
  • Serve as primary manager of all aspects for the Communications Dream Team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, leadership development, appreciations, social events, and database management
  • Organize, schedule, and attend regular training sessions for potential Dream Team
  • Create a system of leadership development to cultivate and train potential production Dream Team leaders
  • Oversee the creation and production of all graphics (Including graphics for sermon series, bathroom posters, social media, lower thirds, banners, and other misc. needs)
  • Work closely with the production department to produce videos for services, sermon series, and other special events

  • Ability to oversee the production of graphics and videos

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years of experience in Communications
  • Must have strong leadership instincts and a proven track record of leading high quality individuals
  • Must possess expertise in aligning and leveraging Communications for the advantage of the church
  • Must possess strong life-giving relational & management skills
  • Strong technology and business acumen
  • Must be able to create and manage change
  • Ability to recruit, develop and retain high quality volunteer teams
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative and Marketing programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier Pro, etc.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Build and maintain a level of excellence in the Communications activities
  • Develop processes for continual improvement of Communications systems
  • Develop and train volunteer teams for multiple services and future campuses
  • Actively participate in ministry opportunities and events
