21 Day Challenge

If you were at C3 this weekend, you heard Matt mentioned that we are starting a 21 Day Challenge on Wednesday, January 9 (tomorrow) to give God the first of our year for 2013. For several years we have done a 21 day Daniel Fast, but this year God laid a new challenge on Matt’s heart for our church and I am so excited to see what God is going to do!

The challenge will have 3 main focuses for 7 days each. Mind. Soul. Body.

January 9-15 we are going to read all 4 Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This is a lot of reading, but it is not impossible. It will require unplugging some from Facebook, Twitter, TV…and other common distractions in order to dive in to God’s Word.

I want to encourage you to take this 21 day challenge with us starting tomorrow! Here is the reading plan…

Wednesday, January 9 – Matthew 1-14

Thursday, January 10 – Matthew 15-28

Friday, January 11 – Mark 1-16

Saturday, January 12 – Luke 1-12

Sunday, January 13 – Luke 13-24

Monday, January 14 – John 1-10

Tuesday, January 15 – John 11-21

After the 7 days of reading the Gospels, we will begin week 2 focusing on the Soul on Wednesday, January 16 with a week-long Daniel fast. This is a fast where you cut out meats and sweets and eat mainly fruits and vegetables. I will post resources to assist you with meal planning. Then, the third week will start on Wednesday, January 23 and we will focus on the Body. During this last week, we challenge you to take 20 minutes a day and do some type of exercise.

So, take the challenge with us and let’s wake up tomorrow and dive in to God’s Word!
