21 Day Challenge – Day 2
Seeing the Majesty of God All Around Us
This is day #2 of our 21 Day Challenge! As Pastor Matt shared yesterday on day #1, we are asking God to renew our MIND through the reading of his word, our BODY through exercizing 20 minutes a day, and our SOUL, as we turn our focus on eternal things and begin the Daniel fast –eating primarily fruits and vegetables.
Today’s scripture reading is Psalm 8-. For many of us, reading the scriptures each day is a new habit to form. But trust me when I say, it’s one of the best habits you’ll ever embrace! It’s life giving and life changing.
Today’s Key Scripture: Psalm 8: 3-4 and 9
Psalm 8: 3-8 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers- the moon and stars you set in place- what are mere mortals that you should think about them? Yet you made them only a little lower than the God and crowned them with glory and honor. [verse 9] Oh Lord our Lord, how MAJESTIC is your name in all the earth!
We live in a day and culture when everyone seems to be running here and there, looking for the newest thing, the latest craze, and the new fad diet — especially after the Holidays!
Sometimes in all the looking and searching for the hip, cool thing, we fail to look to the very one who gave us life and our very breath!
It’s true that one day everyone one us who are devoted followers of Christ will see God face to face. But between now and then, the Bible says we can look to the skies and see the marvelous handiwork of our maker.
Let me encourage you to do something. During this 21 Day Challenge, set your alarm clock a few minutes earlier and catch the first glimpse of dawn on a cool morning. After dinner, step outside and view the painted sky of an evening sunset. The Bible says” the heavens declare the glory of God”. Seeing the handiwork of God is awesome and inspring!
Prayer Focus: Pray and ask God to help you see his majesty each and every day through our 21 day challenge. Take time to see his wonderful creation and thank God for the beauty that surrounds us. As you walk out these 21 days, remember that you are not alone- God is with you wherever you go!
