Why Do We Need To Git R Done?

This past Sunday we kicked off our series Git R Done and it
was a blast. God moved in a big way and it exceeded my expectations.  If you want to download the podcast or
vodcast you can get it here.
I want to thank the C3 Creative arts team for stepping up strong.  Originally we were going to have a
truck on stage with hay but the weight of the truck was too heavy and some of
our staff started breaking out from the hay! So they worked together and put
together an amazing stage design and we were able to check out the trucks
outside.

I first got a vision for this series a couple of months ago.
We are living in challenging but exciting days as believers. None of us know
when Christ is coming back but we do know that He left us with the opportunity
and privilege to finish what He started.
Jesus gives us the great commission in

Matthew 28:19-21, “Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I
have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.”

Jesus came to this
earth, He lived a sinless life, He died on the cross for our sins, and rose
from the grave. Then He left us with the responsibility of carrying out His
plan.

Acts 1:6-8, “So when they met together, they asked Him,
“Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to
them; “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His
own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to
the ends of the earth.”(NIV)

None of us know the time that He is going to return but
Jesus does tell us to receive His power so that we can be His witnesses. We
have the privilege of finishing what He started… We’ve got to Git R Done!

Every time I hear a story about a student dying in a car
accident I think to myself… We’ve got to Git R Done!

Every time I hear of another marriage being torn about by
divorce I think to myself… We’ve got to Git R Done!

Every time I hear of a child being abused or molested… I
think to myself We’ve Got to Git R Done!

Every time I see someone overcome by an addiction… I think
to myself we've got to Git R Done!

Every time I think of people in my subdivision or community
that don’t have a relationship with Jesus and will be separated by God forever
I think to myself… We’ve Got to Git R Done!

Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this, that He who began
a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus.”
