The Amazing Creator

Last week, as our family was driving through the Ozark mountains in Arkansas, my son said, “Dad look!” I’m trying to drive with one eye and look out the window with the other. As I looked out the window, it was an amazing view of the rolling mountains, a lake, as the sun was setting. I couldn’t help but think to myself what an amazing God we have. Whenever you’re tempted to doubt the existence of God, just look at what He has created.

Isaiah 40:28, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.”(NIV)

When you get tired or weary this week, just remember what an awesome God we have!

Tomorrow night we have our first ever college and young adult night called Elevate. If you are between the ages of 18 to 20 something…married or single…we’d love to have you join us tomorrow night at 7:30pm. I will be speaking, the Elevate Band will be rocking, and we will have a Coffeehouse open serving cappuccinos, lattes, and every other kind of coffee you can think of. Come on somebody…God is good!

All that He has created is amazing. Thanks for the reminder.
I lift you and your team up tonight in prayer for your 1st “Elevate” gathering. I know that God is doing amazing things. I am so blessed that God led my family to be a part of your family and what He has chosen you to do in our community. I only wish I were 20 something again. 🙂
    Thank you & God Bless,

I took my kids to Grandfather Mtn af few weeks ago and had the same “isn’t God amazing?” experience. What really gets me is to think that all God had to do was speak…AND IT WAS!! No earth moving equipment, no planning committees…just the Creator and His imagination. It’s incredible to me to think that all of creation with all it’s beauty and grandeur is the work of God’s fingers (Ps.8:3)…but when it comes to redemption…Ps.77:15 says that it is the work of God’s mighty arm…and Ps.98:1 tells us that it is God’s holy arm that works salvation for you and me. Praise God that our Creator didn’t stop with the accomplishment of creation, but that he considers us worthy of His holy elbow grease.

  • Hi Pastor Matt,
Nice to see that you’re posting on your blog again. I wondered if you took a break from it. 🙂 Thanks for this particular post.
God is good even when we aren’t! That is truly amazing and I’m thankful that God is good all the time…and that there are reminders to get us back on track. Last week was Thanksgiving Day and it was good! Really, there is so much to be thankful for. A proper attitude along with prayer (which I’m not as faithful in like I should be) and support from friends and family can put things in the right perspective. (Wish I could write more, but I won’t. I might start rambling and not stop.)
Oh, before I go…about ELEVATE…I’m glad the first one is underway. I’ll be sure to look for more ELEVATE gatherings in the future. I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
    Have a blessed day Pastor!

    Hey Pastor Matt,
I had an awesome time worshiping and listening to God’s word at Elevate last night. I get soo excited when I think about God rising up a generation that will glorify and honor his name! And what you said about the mountains is soo true. To just take a glimpse at what God has created brings joy to my soul. God Bless, Pastor Matt, I’m praying for you and your family!
    In Him,
