Recently I shared with our All Staff at C3 about the power of our perspective. Here are my notes…
Hebrews 12:1-2, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE OF GOD? – Is He the God who really provides? Is He the God who really protects? Is He really in control of all things? Do we really trust Him with our future?
When you need a healing do you have a hard time asking someone to pray for you? When you have a dream in your heart are you hesitant to share with others what God is telling you.
God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear but of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND!
WHAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE OF YOURSELF? – do we talk down to ourselves? Do we receive a compliment with grace? Do we see ourselves the way God sees us? Made in His image with the ability to live the supernatural life. There is only ONE of us. We need to take care of ourselves and have confidence that comes from Christ. Humble but filled with God’s power.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE OF THE CHURCH? – Do we realize the potential of the local church? Jesus says, upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
Do we realize that God gives His church the vision and the mission and it drives everything we do as a minister?
How many visions do we have at C3? One! And every ministry flows out of that. You are an extension of Martha and I into the lives of the people that you are caring for. That’s why you must extend the vision and our hearts to those that God has entrusted to you.
It’s OUR CHURCH and OUR VISION. It’s not pastor matt’s vision and we need to submit to that. It’s not Pastor Matt and Martha’s mission… It’s the vision that we all receive from Christ and we all should take ownership of it! It’s not THEIR church but OUR church, our vision, our mission, we are fulfilling together!
There’s a difference between an OWNER and a RENTER. An owner takes responsibility. Has a whatever it takes attitude. Takes care of what they own.
Let’s pray and ask God to help us have the right perspective of God, yourself and the church. Tomorrow I'll share Part 2 of The Power of Perspective.
