Our C3 24/7 Internship program kicked off this Tuesday, and on Friday the interns took part in their first outreach project at the Johnston County Boys and Girls Club , “The positive Place for Kids”, in Selma.
The mission statement of the Boys & GIrls Club is “to inspire and enable all young people in Johnston County, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
Several weeks ago about 40 of our Warriors did outside maintenance to the building, and this week our interns returned to spend time inside with the children. While they were there, the interns spent time playing kick-ball, jumping rope, playing Uno, and lots of other games. After the kids went home, they also did some touch up painting. Their main purpose Friday was to share the love of Christ with these precious kids, and to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
The Boys & Girls Club is a community-based organization that provides young people with a fun, safe and constructive after-school environment. The Club offers programs and services to help build character and strengthen life skills. The Club is open to all youth ages 6-18 and have a special focus on children and teens from challenged or disadvantaged circumstances.
Thank you to Mrs. Mamie Moore, the director of the Boys & GIrls Club and her staff for letting us partner with you this week!
