Taking A Break

I’m going to push the pause button on my blog. My dad, Dr. Malcolm Fry, passed away early Friday morning, Aug. 24. He will be buried in Nashville, TN, next to my mom who passed away 15 years ago.

He was…
A Champion of the Faith.
A servant of God faithfully in ministry for over 54 years.
The wisest man I knew.
The biggest Atlanta Braves fan on the planet.
My Hero.

I love you Dad and I will miss you.

    Pastor-
Take as much time as you need. I lost my Dad many years ago and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. Kelli and I are praying for you and your family. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you.

My family and the rest of the C3 family are saddened by the news of your father’s passing. His influence and lagacy is obvious in the lives of all the Fry’s.
May the God of Peace comfort you at this time as only He can.

    Matt,
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I know how significant his life has been to your life. His impression deeply stamped on your heart will continue to be a blessing to many. You are his living legacy.

  • Pastor,
We are so sorry to hear about your Dad. From your heartfelt talks about him, we know you were very close to him and that he will be missed dearly.
We are so thankful to him and your mom for being such faithful and loving parents, because without them we would not be blessed with such a wonderful Pastor.
We will be praying for your healing journey to begin and that you feel God’s love and peace surround you and all of your family.

  • The Pohl Family

    Pastor Matt,
You and your family are always in our prayers, and especially now. Of course we never met your dad, but have heard you talk about him over the years. What a blessing his life was to not just those who knew him, but even those who just knew of him! His legacy will thrive through you and countless generations! God bless you and we love you!!

What a great blessing it is to have had a real man of God for a Dad. And as others have said, he’s blessed all of us at C3 through you.
We’re praying for you and your family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant!” — Matt. 25:21

    Pastor Matt,
I pray for peace over you and your family. I know that a fathers relationship is a very important part of who we are. Father God will rush in and fill that void.
We love ya and will be here for ya.

    Pastor Matt,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can honestly say I know what you are going thru. My Mom passed away June 19. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.

  • Tony rogers

    Pastor Matt,
Susan and I are keeping you and the entire Frye family in our prayers. I know during this time it is hard not to grieve, but it should be a time of rejoicing and celebration; for your Dad is walking with Jesus and will forever be in his kingdom. One day you will see him again. Lat me know if there is anything I can do for you buddy.
    Tony Rogers

  • I’m sorry to know of your Dad’s earthly passing. I know that it is hard to lose a parent. You might remember that I lost my Dad in September of 2004 and I still miss him.
Fortunately, I still have my Mom, BUT life isn’t quite the same without Dad. Lately, it’s been even more challenging. There are times in which I wish he were still here.
I know that you will continue to miss and think about your Dad, etc. Fortunately, he’s in a better place even though the grief is still real. (I know that you’re still probably thinking of your Mom and Jerry Falwell.)
I’m also glad that you’re going to take a break on the blog…you deserve it. There are other things going on in your life which demand more attention and energy now.
Take care of yourself and I’ll be in contact with you again.
    Sincerely,
    Gregory <><

    Dear Pastor Matt,
Our hearts know the pain of losing parents. Please know we are praying for God’s comfort to blanket over your family. And know that part of your dad stands before us every Sunday morning thru you. His legacy of service lives on thru the generations after him. What a blessing for us in our lives. We are truly grateful for your mom and dad and all the lives they have touched and will continue to touch thru their children and thru their children. May peace be with you all during this difficult time.

Pastor, you take your time and rest (i know with the pressure you must have,it is almost impossible)but we got things covered, we got your back. We love you and your wonderful family. Thank you for your diligence and love of the cause. As we prayed for you guys GOD put a picture in my mind of people i knew who have passed and they were dancing joyously. I couldn’t help but smile while my son prayed. They are where i long to be someday. In HIS presence rejoicing. Let the Holy Spirt always remind us of this. Be blessed. MIKE

How wonderful to know that he’s now worshipping our Savior, face-to-face! Perhaps Isaac has even shown him around a bit 🙂

    Pastor Matt-
Our family is praying for comfort and peace for you and your family through this time of grief. As many others have said, we all feel we knew your Dad because of your stories and tidbits of wisdom you shared from him. He is probably in deep conversation with God and all the other loved ones who have gone before him! My Dad passed away a year ago, and although the pain has subsided, the memories have not. I catch myself saying things he used to say, and thanking him for teaching me so many things. Your Dad is proud of you as you further the kingdom for the ultimate Father, just as he did his entire life. When you miss him, just look in the mirror-he’s right there! We love you!

    Matt,
I met with Brian Bloye and some of his staff down here in Atlanta last week. As we talked, his connection with you came up… you’ve been on my mind ever since.. I was glad to find your blog tonight. I have been praying for you since last week, and now, with the loss of your dad, I know how to pray more specifically. I know there’s not much more that I can do. Love you man, Craig.

  • Dear Matt,
Mom and Dad and Heather and I wanted you and your family to know, that we are praying for you at the loss of your father. Your parents meant a lot to Mom and Dad (Margaret& Clayton Ward). The peace and comfort comes from know that he has gone Home! WOW! PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!
Prayer request: Dad has Alzhimers, and is slowly dying too. It’s hard, as you know to watch this and see Mom’s heart break also, seeing her “soul mate” for many years, slowing die too! Please remember all the family in prayer! Thank you!
    God bless you brother!
