Now What?

To kick off the new year I encouraged you to join me in a 21
Day Challenge of asking God to renew our MIND, SOUL and BODY. The first week we
read through the 4 gospels, the second week we prayed and fasted and the last 7
days we exercised 20 minutes a day. I am so amazed at how many people joined us
in this challenge even beyond the C3 Church family.

 

So now that we have concluded the 21 day challenge you might
be asking, "Now what?"

 

My prayer is that these 21 days would get your year off to a
strong start and would continue to impact the rest of the year. Some of you
read more Bible in 1 week than you ever have, some of you fasted and prayed for
the first time and many of you it’s been years since you exercised 7 days in a
row. But why does it have to stop here? Keep moving forward!

 

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Make a decision to
spend daily time in the Word and in Prayer
 

Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test
and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”(NIV)

As you spend daily time in God’s Word it will renew your
mind and give you God’s perspective to your life and your decisions. Don’t get
caught up in legalism but spend time in His Word out of a love relationship
with your Heavenly Father. There are many great devotionals out there on

2. Incorporate some
of the foods from the Daniel Fast into your regular meals.

One of the benefits for our family in doing the Daniel Fast
the last several years is that we discover foods that we like so much better
than the junk food. And on top of that, you feel so much better. So rather than
eating chips and dip, eat veggies with dip. Rather than eating a cheeseburger
for lunch, eat some grilled chicken. Rather than eating a pop tart for breakfast, drink a protein shake or eat an egg. God’s Word says don’t copy the pattern and
behaviors of this world, so don’t get caught up in the flow!

 

3. Make it your goal
to exercise at least 20 minutes a day about 3 to 4 days a week.

There are so many health benefits to doing some type of
exercise a few times a week, even if it’s just going for a walk. A great idea
is to listen to the Word of God or a sermon on your headphones as you're walking
or exercising! Then you are renewing your body and mind at the same time!

 

Do you realize that this last year 31% of Americans didn’t
exercise at all! Don’t copy that pattern! I don’t know about you, but I not only
want to live a long life but I want to live a full life! I want to impact the
world and I want to live long enough to see future generations change the
world.

 

So, what now? Get up, get moving and let’s change the world!
