This weekend we continued our REALationships series and Matt spoke a great word on The Key to Healthy Relationships. If you missed this weekend’s message, I encourage you to watch it here and listen to it here. Also,if you were not at C3 this weekend, or if you would like to give your tithe or offering, you can give online by clicking here.
Put Your Clothes On!
“I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.” (Isaiah 61:10 NLT)
Clothe yourself with MERCY.
Clothe yourself with KINDNESS.
Clothe yourself with HUMILITY.
“No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NLT)
Clothe yourself with GENTLENESS.
Clothe yourself with PATIENCE.
EXPECTATIONS. _______________ BEHAVIORS.
There will always be a gap between our expectations and the reality of the real behavior in our relationships.
We can either believe the best or assume the worst. Healthy marriages believe the best.
“It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV)
“If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses.” (Matthew 18:15, 16 NLT)
“And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry”(Ephesians 4:26 NLT)
Clothe Yourself with LOVE.
“If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always,Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.” 1 Corinthians 13:3-7
