We had an awesome weekend at C3 Church!! This weekend was Revolution Weekend for our 7th-12th grade students. We had the great blessing of hosting 7th grade boys in our home! The students spent the weekend in small groups in homes, having powerful services and giving back to our community through service projects. Exodus from Liberty University was here to lead the students in worship the whole weekend, as well as for our 3 main services.
Here’s a great recap video of Revolution Weekend…
We continued our Yeshua series from the book of Matthew and Matt spoke the second part of “Living a Blessed Life” that he started last weekend. If you missed the message, I encourage you to watch it here and listen to it here. Also,if you were not at C3 this weekend, or if you would like to give, you can give online by clicking here.
Last week, Matt spoke on 5 of the 8 ways to live the blessed life, and this weekend he picked up with number 6…
Matthew 5:8-12 “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.” (NLT)
6. GOD BLESSES THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE PURE
Matthew 6:24, ““No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”(NLT)
Declaration: I’m going to put Jesus FIRST place in my life with my time, talents and treasure.
7. GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO WORK FOR PEACE
Ephesians 2:14-18, “For He himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in His flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”(NIV)
Declaration: I’m going to be a bridge builder, not a wall builder.
8. GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO ARE PERSECUTED FOR DOING RIGHT
Matthew 5:11-12, “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.” (NLT)
Declaration: I’m going to rejoice when I am persecuted rather than seek revenge.
