We had an incredible weekend at C3 Church celebrating Christmas! We had four Christmas services this weekend (one on Friday night; 2 Saturday afternoon and one Christmas morning). We had over 3500 people attend the 4 services and saw many make a decision for Christ! On Christmas morning we baptized 24 men, women and children! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Christmas than through baptisms!
If you were out of town or missed the service, you can watch it here! It was a powerful time of worship and celebrating the real meaning of Christmas! For New Year’s Weekend we will have 2 services on Sunday at 9:15am and 11:15am (we will not have a Saturday night service) and the following weekend, January 7 & 8, our regular weekend schedule will continue.
Each year our church reaches out to our community through our Angel Tree project. This year, we were able to collect over 1,000 gifts to give to 100 families in our communities through Angel Tree. Here is a recap of our 2011 Angel Tree project. Thank you, C3 for reaching out and providing real hope for our community!
This weekend, Matt spoke a powerful message on “Coming Home for Christmas” on what it means to come home to our Savior. He reminded us that no home is perfect and every home experiences the unexpected.
Matthew 2:1-6, “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.”(NLT)
When you come home to Jesus, you experience LOVE and FORGIVENESS. Where there is true love, there is forgiveness.
Romans 3:23 “for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Matthew 1:21, “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will SAVE His people from their sins.”
We also experience PEACE AND STRENGTH
Matthew 11:28, “Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Rest is the result of a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus.
When we come home to Jesus, we experience ETERNAL LIFE!
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”(NLT))
