Monday Morning Recap

We had another incredible weekend at C3 this weekend!  It started Saturday morning with our 2011 Spring Training for all of our Dream Team leaders and a luncheon for our Kingdom Builders.  We are so blessed at C3 to have hundreds of volunteers that faithfully serve every weekend on our Dream Team and hundreds of families that give above and beyond as Kingdom Builders at C3! Pastor Craig Johnson of LakeWood Church in Houston, Texas was our guest speaker for the Spring Training and luncheon, and also spoke at both of our Sunday services.

Matt & I with Pastor Craig and Samantha Johnson

Pastor Craig is on staff with Pastor Joel Osteen at LakeWood Church, a church of over 40,000 and oversees over 5,000 volunteers! He encouraged and challenged our Dream Team and Kingdom Builders to believe for even greater things for the future!

We continued our Five Star series on Sunday and Pastor Craig spoke on “The God of the Breakthrough” from 2 Chronicles 20. Pastor Craig encouraged us that when we need a breakthrough in our life, we are in the best position possible for God to move on our behalf!  You can listen to the sermon here and watch it here.

2 Chronicles 20:15 “He said, ‘Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

To God, brokenness is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength.  Instead of retreating in times of weakness, we need to run harder toward God.

The testing is preparation for the breakthrough! Don’t let times of testing discourage you or cause you to quit – claim instead that in the testing God is preparing you!

Brokenness signals that we need Him and that strength is on the way!

When we cry out to God, He loves to respond!

Take your position, stand there and watch God do it!

Stop fighting the battles that God is meant to fight.  Let it Go!

2 Chronicles 20:16-17 “Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

Praise Precedes the Victory.

2 Chronicles 20:21 “After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:

“Give thanks to the Lord;
his faithful love endures forever!”

When we give God all the glory, He’ll not only save me and bless me, but He’ll protect me from battles yet to come!

Praise God that He IS the God of our Breakthrough!  When we are in bondage or when we feel like we are in a pit that we can’t get out of, all we need to do is call on Him and turn to Him and He is our rescuer!
