Miracles

How many of you are going to need a miracle to get through this fast?
I went grocery shopping last night.  I discovered that it is much easier to shop for the Daniel’s fast before it starts than after!  The bread smelled amazing and I didn’t even walk down the aisle  with the coffee.  LOL!
I love hearing the testimonies of what God is doing in the lives of people.   So, let me encourage you to be in church this weekend.  We all need an encouraging boost from being with other believers but especially during this fast.
This weekend Matt is speaking on miracles, and if you’re like me, there are areas in my life I need a miracle.  I can’t change myself, and it is only through the power of God that lives are changed, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
In Matthew 10 (go read it this week)  The disciples cannot cast the demon out of the boy, and Jesus has to do it. Some miracles only come out through prayer and fasting.
What miracle are you believing God for?

On your fourth day of fasting, remember:
1. Drink lots of water.
2. Listen as you pray.
3. Record His response to your prayers.

Today’s Quote:

“As important and intriguing as divine depths might be, they defy discovery by the natural means of our minds. He reserves these things for those whose hearts are completely His…for those who take the time to wait before Him. Only in that way can there be intimacy with the Almighty.”

Quote from Charles Swindoll in Intimacy with the Almighty

Thoughts for your Journal:
1. Do you have a friend or loved one that is in need of Salvation?
2. Is there any healing that you need physically?
3. What are the needs in your family right now?

Let’s pray while we are fasting and believe God for Big God-Sized things!!
Hugs to you all,
Martha

Guacamole – (this is one of our families favorite, because we have to dip everything)

Blend ripe avocados in a food processor with juice from 1 large lime, 2 cloves garlic, 1 roma tomato and a dash of salt. If you like spice, you can add 1/4 of a jalapeno pepper seeded.
Serve on black beans, portobello mushrooms or use as a dip with vegetables.

I just want you to know how much your C3News ad about this website worked. I DREAMED about the clash of the blogs and the ad from C3News. I woke up at 3am unable to sleep b/c of the “Anything you can do I can do better” song. I never did go back to sleep but I count it all joy for our Savior. Great ad by the way.

I am so excited about this fast. This is our first fast together for me and Davd and it is amazing to see that we have only been on it 4 days and our marriage has grown. We serve an AWESOME God!!!!

    Martha,
Great recipe, we love that stuff!!!! We are going to give it a try. Good luck, and God Bless you and your family during this fast. Yes, it will take a miracle to keep me away from Starbucks, ha ha. God Bless you.

Martha just wanted to say thank you for starting this blog and the recipes, it is so helpful. The black bean burgers sound yummy! As our Connect Group met last night it was a challenge to prepare a light dinner, but what came to mind was great and the group loved it. Again, thank you for all that you do.
    Vegetable Soup
1 large bag of frozen vegetables
    1 onion (diced)
    3-4 potatoes
    1 garlic clove (crushed)
    1 green pepper (diced)
2 large cans of diced tomatoes
1 stalk of celery (cut into small pieces)
    2 tbsp hot sauce
    2 tbsp honey
    1/4 cup of olive oil
    salt and pepper
Peel and dice potatoes and add all ingredients together (make sure your tomatoes have no sugar or use fresh tomatoes) and simmer about 3 hours. I served this with corn tortilla chips. With the weather being a little on the cool side this was great. The olive oil will season the soup perfect and the honey will add the sweet taste that is needed.
