Let the Journey Begin

I’ve done my grocery shopping! On Tuesday I was with a friend who has all her meals planned out and a lot of shopping done. After talking to her I started getting nervous. I started thinking, “my family is going to starve if I don’t get to the store”. Can I tell you how easy it is to shop when all you can shop for is fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans?

What’s weird is as I was shopping and putting the groceries away, I began to feel like I was preparing for something BIG! A feeling of: this is serious, this is warfare, this is supernatural, this is a God thing. I began to get excited. Now I have my groceries, I have my Bible, and I have my journal. I am ready for the gun to go off and start this exciting, supernatural, God journey.

I’m glad I’m not doing this alone! Hugs,

Tomato Basil Soup

12 Vine Ripe Tomatoes
1 Package Cherry Tomatoes
2 1/2 Cups Fresh Carrot Juice (or Odwalla available in juice section)
1 Large Ripe Avocado
2 Yellow Onions (chopped)
4 Cloves Garlic (chopped)
5 Stems Fresh Basil
2 Tablespoons Pure Honey
1 Bay Leave
1 teaspoon Oregano
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
1 Tablespoon Red Pepper Flakes
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Cook onion and garlic in olive oil until tender. Cut tomatoes and avocado in quarters and place all ingredients in blender and blend on low speed for one minute. Continue to blend on high for an additional minute until creamy. Pour into large soup bowl or crock pot and cook on medium low for 2 to 3 hours.

Give up popcorn??? Isn’t corn a vegetable?
Seriously, we are so excited for what God will do these next three weeks. Thanks for your leadership, excitement, energy and recipes as we go forward together. Can’t wait to see what happens!

I have a very serious question. What if you really want to participate in the fast BUT you don’t eat veggies and you are a VERY picky person? Do you have any receipes that are really simple that a “picky” person would eat? All I eat is meat and potatoes and some fruit. I’m not into the receipes I’ve seen so far. Got any suggestions? Maybe I should fast something besides food…but I really want to be a part of this…HELP PLEASE!

  • Hey Martha! Welcome to the blogging world! Ken just told me today that you had started a blog… I am so jealous… Your blog looks great! I am excited to just being able to keep up with you. So much of what you say really inspires me, so I will be a faithful follower. It’s awesome to have a sister like you that I can learn so much from.

Thanks for the Recipes, we had the creamy corn potato soup last night it was DELICIOUS, I did substitute the green pepper for celery, and then instead of bread we had celery sticks to dip!!
We are going to have 3 bean chili tonight,
We are feeling so good about this, although out of habit I did look at the coffee pot this morning!
    have a great 21 Days!

If you only eat meat and potatoes, try switching to some of the meat substitutes available in most frozen food sections and use sweet potatoes in place of regular potatoes or rice. Fruit is good and you can use fruit to spice up main meal dishes also. Try putting peaches in with meats or meatless meals for sweetness, apples and apricots are good for this also. Look on the internet under recipes and look for vegetarian recipes. I have the book, “Vegetarian for Dummies” and it’s a great way to get things going.
