Today’s post comes from Joshua Jurjevich, Youth Minister at C3.
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16
Today’s Key Scripture: Proverbs 16:1 “We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.” Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:9 “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
Most of us like to know what the future holds for our lives. We find safety in a good plan. I believe that there is wisdom in a good plan. However, we need room for the Holy Spirit to guide us and move us in the direction that He has us go in our lives. Many of us had our lives mapped out in our minds, but as we grow older we realize that many things turned out differently than what we had expected. While we may have encountered some disappointments or experienced some lovely surprises, I believe that your best days are in front of you.
3 thoughts about a future committed to God:
1. Where I’m going is bigger than where I’ve been.
Your best days are in front of you. No matter the mistakes or disappointments that you have faced in your past, your better days are still to come.
2. Where I’m going is bigger than where I am at.
Where you are at is a season which will prepare you for what is ahead. It is not your final destination. Stay faithful and don’t lose heart!
3. Where I’m going is bigger than where I’ve dreamed.
God has a bigger plan for your life than what you could even think of or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
Prayer Focus: Lord, help me to trust you with my future. I commit my plans to You. Lead every step of my life. Thank you for the journey that you have put me on. Thank you for the amazing future that You have given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
