The Week That Was HILLSONG

It has been amazing week at the Hillsong Conference here in Sydney. Of course we miss home…. our children… our church… and good ole Eastern North Carolina BBQ. We’ll be back Monday… ready to rock and roll for Jesus… Ok it may take a few days to overcome the 14 hour time difference, and the 24 hours of travel time.

I am in awe when I think that we are in the midst of making history. There’s no way to put into words what I have experienced so far this week. But let me try to give you a picture.. Over 30,000 people worshipping with complete passion, from 71 nations, from all different denominations. Last night was the final night of the conference and it concluded with a 20 year celebration of the Hillsong Conference with a Worship Party and anointing service. I had the privilege of anointing and praying for many of those in attendance as pastors spread out and prayed for every person in the coliseum.
In addition to worshiping with thousands of people, the week has also included attending workshops related to community outreach, evangelism, creative arts, and a pastors Q/A with Pastor Brian Houston and Pastor Bill Hybels.
Here are a few of the world changers that I’ve had the chance to meet or connect with: Pastor Bill Hybels (Willow Creek, Chicago), Pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston (Hillsong Church, Sydney), Pastor Gary Clarke (Hillsong, London), Zhenya Kasavich (Hillsong Kiev), and Martin Smith (Delirious?). I told Martha that this week I have prayed, cried, absorbed powerful Holy Spirit teaching, and worshipped until there is nothing left in me….. except Jesus. I can honestly say that my life will never be the same.

One of the themes that we keep hearing is “Championing the Cause of Christ through the local church”. I am so blessed to pastor a church that is a part of accomplishing that. Not only in our community but around the world.
This weekend at C3 you will be blessed as our Minister of Students, Chris Graebe speaks at all 4 services. Also Sunday night we are launching 2 new student ministries. A brand new Middle School ministry called Fusion Fusion_logolaunches Sunday night and our High School ministry Epic Epic_logo_1
will be kicking off this Sunday as well. Be praying big time for our students as we impact the next generation for God’s glory. Let’s champion the cause of Christ together!

  • Thanks for the update again…it does “look” cold in Australia (from the picture). But, I know you’re on fire and energized for Jesus! 🙂
