Hanging on Every Word

“Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him. But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word he said.” (Luke 19:45-48 NLT)

I read this scripture as part of my devotion this week and one of the things I observed was that the religious leaders who were trying to plot a way to kill Jesus couldn’t think of a way to do it because the people hung on every word Jesus said.

The same is true in our lives. If we want the enemy to leave us alone or thwart people’s thinking, there are a number of things we need to be intentional to do…

*Read the Word

*Listen to the Word

*Memorize Scripture

*Speak scripture over yourself and your circumstances

*Be in Church

I want to encourage you to do all the same. We need to consistently be in God’s Word and consistently be in church, under the teaching of the Word. Matt and I are BACK from sabbatical and are so excited to be in church tonight and Sunday! I look forward to seeing you either tonight at our 7pm service or Sunday at 9:15am and 11:15am!

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalms 119: 105
