Fair Food

Going to the fair has been an annual tradition for our family since we moved to Johnston County nine years ago. Sight seeing at the exhibits was entertainment enough for our kids when they were younger. Now, they will run past the exhibits to get to the rides and the games. I love to go to the exhibits and check out all the new gadgets. They have pressure cookers, knives, steam vacs, microfiber cleaners….and those are just the things I have purchased!

Even though the kids like the rides and I like the gadgets, there is one thing we all look forward to…fair food! Can you believe the food at the fair? Polish sausage, funnel cakes, candy apples, turkey legs…and that doesn’t even include all the fried stuff. There are fried pickles, fried oreos, fried twinkies, and this year they even had fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! In case you were wondering….none of this is Daniel fast-friendly!

Speaking of food…. this Saturday night at C3 after the 5:00 and 6:30 service, we will have hot dogs for you and your family. So, come to church and then stay for a hot dog.

Going to the fair is one way we enjoy being together as a family. It’s so important to make time with your family each week to just relax and be together. And, you don’t have to go to the fair to have fun. You can come to church and have a hot dog!

So, if you want to go to the fair as a family, you still have a couple days. But, if you don’t make it there, plan something to do this week just to spend time together.

See you this weekend!

That’s it; I am knocking off work early and going out and have a fun “date night” with my hubby this afternoon! Thanks Martha for reminding me how important relaxing and having fun as a family is for everyone! We’ll spend Saturday with the family and kids having fun, coming to church and eating Hot Dogs!
