Exciting Journey

We are officially into the 21 Day Journey together. I want to encourage you to take some time and seek God and ask Him for strength and wisdom… Remember, if you are participating in the Daniel’s Fast, the first few days will be the most challenging as our body is being cleansed. Let’s start strong so we can finish strong.

Yesterday was a long but powerful day for me. I caught a 6am flight to Atlanta for a one day leadership training class in preparation for training Pastors and leaders in India. I had the privilege of spending some time with Dr. John Maxwell and Dr. John Hull with Equip. It was also great to connect with some of the great leaders and pastors from around the country as we prepare to train leaders internationally for the next 3 years… It’s exciting to be a part of something so big, as we have already trained over one million leaders from around the world. But I returned home and got to bed about midnight so this morning I was in need of some coffee big time… But I reminded myself of Daniel’s example. (Read Daniel 1) When Daniel decided to not partake of the King’s delicacies the Bible says in:

Daniel 1:8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies…”(NKJV)

Notice Daniel “purposed in his heart”. He was determined and made up his mind from the beginning that He was going to stand strong. As a result the Bible says that they were 10 times better and wiser!

Daniel 1:20, “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.”(NKJV)

So as we begin this journey together, let’s purpose in our heart and watch God do great things!

    Pastor Matt,
I’m letting you know that 4 full days into the fast I feel very aware of myself as a Christian and am looking to God for direction. I know that if I’ve made it this far in the fast I can continue the full 21 days, and I know if I can make it 21 days I can do what God asks of me! This weekend’s service was powerful and touching!
