Divine Appointment

This weekend, we had the awesome privilege of having Nancy Alcorn, the founder and president of Mercy Ministries, speaking at all three services.  The whole weekend was a divine appointment!

About a month ago, Nancy was scheduled to be in Raleigh to do a brunch with supporters of Mercy Ministries, but it was cancelled by the snow.  It was rescheduled for this Saturday morning and the opportunity to have her speak became available and we jumped on it!

Nancy shared her powerful personal testimony and the journey God took her on that led to opening Mercy Ministries and the journey He is continuing to take her on.

Since 1983, Mercy Ministries has provided hope and healing to generations of desperate young women who are seeking freedom from life-controlling problems, such as drug & alcohol addictions, eating disorders, depression, unplanned pregnancy, self harm, and physical and sexual abuse.  The program is for girls 13-28 who are facing a combination of these debilitating circumstances, and is biblically based and free of charge.

Mercy Ministries is founded on the Truth that true life change cannot happen apart from Jesus Christ.  They now have several homes throughout the United States, as well as other parts of the world like the U.K and Canada, where they are taking girls in and feeding them the Truth of God’s Word and sending them back into society to be strong, powerful contributors for the cause of Christ.

We were so blessed to have Nancy here this weekend and are excited for opportunities in the future to partner with Mercy Ministries!

We were truly blessed by this weekend’s services. I love the fact that it fit right into our sermon series, A walk to the cross. People need to see that they don’t have to get their act together to come to Christ. He takes them where they are at. And He REDEEMS the years the locusts have eaten. Thank you Pastor Matt and Martha for jumping on this opportunity to have Nancy Alcorn speak.
