Billy Graham Recap and Pics

I have to say that this week was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had… not just for me but for our family.  I was invited to speak to the staff of the Billy Graham Evangelical Association on Thursday morning.  We arrived on Wednesday and spent the afternoon and evening meeting with various staff and leadership, discussing how we can partner together internationally.  What an amazing team they have at BGEA!  They are movers and shakers for the kingdom.  I want to thank John McCarty for hosting us while we were there.

Another highlight was getting to spend some time with Phil Ling who heads up their communications department.  We had many mutual friends and I gained tons of insight from him as he allowed me to pick his brain.  We talked about branding, leadership structure, and flow.  Thanks Phil!

Thursday morning I spoke about “Leaving a Legacy to the Next Generation” to approximately 350 staff and it was cool to meet some old friends from Liberty as well as my Free Will Baptist days.  Several of the staff knew my dad when he was Editor in Chief of Randall House Publications and Director of Church Training.

But probably the biggest highlight for our family was getting to tour the Billy Graham library… I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was whip lashed with emotion.  What an amazing experience!  If you haven’t been you’ve got to plan a trip.  It takes about one hour and 45 minutes and it will change your life.  And the whole environment of the BGEA facility is life giving.

Then after I spoke on Thursday we were blessed with a private tour of Billy Graham’s board room and office.  I can’t explain to you what it was like to have my kids there and to think about how God is going to use them to change the world.  Another highlight was to meet Billy Graham’s personal photographer, Russ.  He’s been taking pictures of Billy Graham’s ministry and family for 52 years.  What an amazing man.  I could go on and on but I am so excited to see all that God is going to do as C3 and BGEA partners together for His Kingdom!

Wow! I’m so proud to be apart of C3 and such great leadership that “takes us along” through your blogs. Thank you for being transparent and going the extra mile to communicate with the C3 family. I really appreciate that.
