Sunday night was an awesome night at C3 – our student ministries, Epic (high school) and Fusion (middle school) combined for a powerful night of worship and teaching! I had the huge privilege and honor to speak to our students, and it was a blessing to be able to pour into them.
We kicked off a new series called Voices, and talked about how we do have a true enemy, and that he is trying to speak into our lives.
One of the key verses of the night was 1 Peter 5:8 "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."
We have to make the choice to silence his voice and listen to God's voice. In order to do that, we have to be alert to the tactics of the enemy. His main goal is to destroy our lives and the lives of our students. But, in God's strength and in His power, those voices of deception can be silenced and God's voice can be the guiding voice in our lives.
We had a powerful response time, and students made the choice to confront the voices that they hear and turn them over to God, and allow His Power to help them overcome and silence the voice of our enemy. It was awesome and I can't wait till next weekend as we continue the series, Voices!
While I was speaking, a verse came to mind but I couldn't remember the reference, so I challenged the students to research and find the reference and email me with it. And, I am happy to announce that the winner is….Amanda Boyle! Congratulations!!!! Many students took the time to research it too, which is awesome!
So, whether you are an adult or a student, remember this week to pray for God's strength to silence the voice of the enemy in your life.
