African Memories

Here is another great memory from our trip to Africa with Children’s Cup. This was is from Vickie Buss…

Isaiah 52:7

“How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger bringing good news”

We were on the bus – the “Sprinter,” as it is called in Africa – when I had the strong impression we should take a picture like this.  It just seemed like a cute idea for a bunch of women to do at the time, but it became much bigger than that.

The more I look at this picture, the more I can see what it really represents.  Seventeen women, including Jean Ohlerking, who had so many differences – age; life experience; marital status; etc. – shared one common bond:  a love for Jesus & the heart of a servant.

Every woman on the trip had Spiritual Gifts, along with incredible talents and abilities with which she’d been blessed.  We began to see each woman blossom under the hot African sun & her gifts and talents became a source of blessing to everyone we met – children, pastors, students, women, missionaries, guides and bus drivers!

What a privilege it was to see God use the Gifts of seventeen women to make an impact in Swaziland and South Africa!  I give Him all the praise and am so thankful for allowing me to be a part of this!
