This past Wednesday night I shared about the principle of
FIRST. All throughout scripture we
see examples of the principle of giving to God our First and our Best (for
scriptures you can check out MarthaFry.org). Many people get caught up in
10% and tithing and offerings, etc.
But it’s not about just giving God 10% (which is what a tithe literally
means), it’s about giving to God the FIRST 10% of what God blesses us. What
God desires is our heart and when He has our heart He has our possessions. It all came from Him in the first
place! So this past First Wednesday I challenged the C3 family to commit to tithing
for 90 days.
In Malachi 3:10-11
God tells us to “Test Him”… “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that
there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD
Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and
pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will
prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not
cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty.”
I was blown away at the response. They say that in most churches only
about 20% of church members actually tithe but just about everyone in
attendance Wednesday night made a commitment to the 90-Day Challenge. I love to ask “What if” questions…
What if everyone was fully committed to God?” “What if everyone shared with
their friends the love of Jesus?” “What if everyone put God FIRST place in
their life, their finances, their family, their ministry and their business
what could God do?”
If you weren’t there Wednesday night and would like to accept the
challenge you can let me know by commenting here on my blog or contacting the
C3 Church office. I want to bless you with a free book that changed my life, The Blessed Life by Robert
Morris. You can come by the
Welcome Center at C3 this Sunday and pick yours up.
Let’s keep dreaming BIG dreams and putting God first in
EVERYTHING! I love you guys.
