This weekend we launched a brand new series called, Walk To
The Cross. I can already tell God is going to do some amazing things in our
life as we walk with Jesus during his final days before His crucifixion and
resurrection. If you were here you know that I challenged the C3 Church family
to join us on a 40 day journey to the cross.

GET IN A CONNECT GROUP – if you aren’t in one now is a great time to join one.  Each week you will be discussing the
theme for that week as well as the person that walked with Jesus to the cross.

40 DAY DEVOTIONAL – we will be studying the scripture together each day beginning
Monday, Feb. 22 and concluding on Good Friday, April 2. We will be using the
devotional book, “Walk with Jesus
written by Pastor Chuck Swindoll.

SHARE OUR SHOES – On Palm Sunday weekend, March 27-28, we will all be bringing a pair
of shoes or more to help provide shoes for children and adults in Haiti as well
as here locally. They will be delivered to Love A Child orphanage outside of Port
Au Prince, Haiti. There are over 300 million children today that are walking
with out shoes! Let’s make a difference.

– Pray everyday and ask God what He would have you do as we give back and

By the way during the 40 Day Challenge I will be posting the
scripture and prayer focus here on my blog each day. If you Twitter, blog or
Facebook will you help me get the word out? Use the hash tag #40DayChallenge if
you Twitter. I can wait to see ALL that God does!

I must admit, having been raised Catholic, I thought I knew all there was to know about the story of Jesus’ time leading up to the cross. As my wife & I read the 40 day devotional I saw a nugget I had missed until now. The religous leaders, being under the Romans, were afraid that if these wacky Christ followers kept it up they would rock the boat to such an extent that the Romans would take away the Temple and their already tenuous authority. I know what it is like to fly under the radar so that the ones in charge don’t take away certain liberties. I was saved in jail.
Thanks Matt for this opportunity for my Wife and I to come together in the morning and be taught by the Holy Spirit through this devotional.
