31 Days with Proverbs

This past weekend at C3 I challenged everyone to read through the book of Proverbs over the next 6 weeks. If you have accepted the challenge, or would like to… post a comment and let me know that you are taking the journey with us! As you know, Proverbs is packed with wisdom from God to help us make the right choices. Here’s the deal… you read 5 chapters every week beginning this week and after 6 weeks, we will have read all 31 chapters.

This week Read Proverbs 1-5
Week 2 Read Proverbs 6-10
Week 3 Read Proverbs 11-15
Week 4 Read Proverbs 16-20
Week 5 Read Proverbs 21-25
Week 6 Read Proverbs 26-31

What’s exciting is that our connect groups are meeting throughout the week studying the principles in Proverbs, and then we gather on the weekend for the GPS series and hear a message based on Proverbs. Even if you don’t attend C3, I’d like to invite you to join us for this 31 day journey.
Today is Wednesday and our reading for today is Proverbs chapter 3. What a powerful chapter! Check out Proverbs 3:13-15,

“Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”(NIV)

Don’t forget to let us know if you are taking the journey with us and let’s watch God do some cool stuff in our lives as we seek Him for wisdom!

Love Ya… Pastor Matt

I’m with you Pastor Matt. Proverbs is full of how to and how not to live than any other book in the Bible.

The Adams’ Family is reading Proverbs-its a great way to start with a “family bible study”. The Lord KNOWS we sure can use some wisdom!

  • Joel Gates

Proverbs! Yeah man! Written in large part by Solomon (and maybe some other wise dudes) all the way from the tenth century BC to 2008 and still as applicable as if it were written just for me. I’m onboard! Should make for a great month!

  • Duane

I’m right with you Pastor. I’m off to go do my reading right now!!

A really key verse from yesterday: Prov. 4:23
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
It hit me how important that is. If our hearts are focused on God and our thinking is from His perspective, the rest of life goes much better than if we think of ourselves first. Most of my “bad” days can be traced to a selfish attitude.
