What an amazing 21 Day journey this has been! We have been stretching ourselves and pressing into God by asking Him to renew our mind through reading the book of Psalms, renew our body through exercising 20 minutes a day and renew our soul by doing the Daniel Fast. If you have been a part of all 21 days, or even a portion, I pray that God has not only done a great work in your life during these three weeks but that He is preparing you for an amazing year and an amazing future!
My prayer is that this will not be a 21 day thing, but it would be a lifestyle. Ask God to help you throughout the year to continue to give Him your mind, body and soul on a regular basis.
Today’s reading is Psalms 145–150
Today’s Key Scripture: Psalm 145:13-14 (NLT)
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
Have you ever promised someone you would do something and you didn’t do it? Maybe you had good intentions but you got distracted, busy or just plain ‘ole forgot all about it. It is a horrible feeling when you are counting on someone and they do not follow through.
As a dad of three children, one in high school and two in college, I’m sure there have been times when I didn’t do exactly what I said I would do or when I would do it. And kids don’t forget a thing! I’ve learned that when that does happen, I need to get down on their level and ask them to forgive me. As a parent, you only need to have that to happen once and then hopefully you learn your lesson. Keeping our promises is so important to build a healthy family and maintain healthy relationships.
I’m so thankful that God ALWAYS keeps His promises! He will never let you down. Sometimes friends and family will disappoint you, but our God will never let you down. The Psalmist says, “The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.”
God’s Word is filled with promises! Let me encourage you to take some time and look through God’s Word for His promises, then apply God’s promises to your life and the situations you are facing. And then, begin to declare those promises over your life and your future. I can guarantee you that your life will never be the same. It doesn’t mean that your problems will go away, but you will have God’s promises to keep you focused and filled with His hope.
Here are 15 of God’s Promises:
“Blessed are all who take refuge in him” (Psalm 2:12)
“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8)
“For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as a shield”
“My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart” (Psalm 7:10)
“The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9)
“The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless” (Psalm 10:14)
“I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken”

Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you that you always follow through with your promises because of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. I pray that as I declare Your promises over my life, I will not only see Your power displayed in my life, but will also have an impact on many generations to come. In Jesus’ Name.
