21 Day Challenge – Day 13 – Stay Planted

Today’s post comes from Andrew Kurtz, Worship Minister at C3.

As we continue the 21 Day Challenge, we’re excited to see how God is transforming YOUR life as you spend time reading His Word and putting Him first in your time and health, and in your year. For those of you who started at the beginning and have kept up with the Bible reading, great job! If you haven’t started yet or have fallen behind, don’t worry – start today! It’s never too late to join the 21 Day Challenge.

Today’s scripture reading is Psalms 89-92. It took me about 20 minutes to read it through, so maybe dedicate 30 minutes today to reading and a time of prayer. The time doesn’t have to be rigid, the goal is for you and God to connect and strengthen your relationship. As you read, ask God to speak to you.

Today’s Key Scripture: Psalm 92:12-14

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of The Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing. (NKJV)

I am young in ministry, but I’ve been around long enough to see a lot of different people come to C3 Church in hopes of finding that “something more” in their lives. I can tell you that the ones who stick around and plant themselves in church are the ones who live the most full, joyous and flourishing lives. I can’t explain it, but it’s true – it proves what was written in this Psalm so many years ago.

When we plant ourselves in a church, we make a lasting commitment to support that church’s vision, use our gifts and talents to serve the church, tithe to that church, and get connected with the congregation to support that church’s community. It’s a decision to trust, support, and protect the church leadership, even when we don’t understand the whole picture, and to work through any offenses that may take hold.

Prayer Focus: I encourage you to pray about how you can go to the next level in your church commitment. Whether you are at C3 or another thriving church, ask God to give you a love for His House. As you do, you will see your life begin to be transformed and you too will flourish.
