21 Day Challenge – Day 10 – Drawing Near to God

Today’s post comes from Jim Kelly, Executive Minister at C3 Church.

If you’ve been tracking with us through this 21 Day Challenge, we are right in the middle of this amazing journey. We are literally transforming our minds through the reading of God’s word, exercising our bodies for 20 minutes each day, and will soon be embracing our Daniel Fast; pushing aside the meats and sweets in order to focus on what Jesus called our real food – fulfilling God’s will for our lives!

Today’s scripture reading is Psalms 71-77. Let me encourage you to find a quiet place where you can focus. You see, it’s not just about reading through these chapters, it’s more about meditating on God’s word. Meditate, in a Biblical sense, means to roll thoughts over in your mind. So don’t rush the process. Enjoy your spiritual meal!

Today’s Key Scripture: Psalm 73:23-25
Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your council, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.

You and I are surrounded by people each and every day of our lives – at work, in the neighborhood, at sporting events, in restaurants, on social media, through our tv screens, even while were driving! And yet, so many of us still feel alone.

People may have many friends that pass through their lives, but deep inside they are longing for more. They are longing for something that fills the deepest part of their soul, something that will last a lifetime, something eternal. What we all desire and desperately crave is life-giving relationships. And that begins with Jesus!

As the Scripture says, he holds our hands (so we don’t have to walk this life alone), he guides us with his counsel (as we meditate each day on his Word). And the good news is: He is leading you and I to a glorious destiny! You can trust God with your life. He’s your Heavenly Father and loves you in every way.

Prayer Focus: On this 10th day of our 21 Day Challenge, thank God for his presence in your life. Thank him for holding your hand through life’s ups and downs. Thank him for his daily counsel. And don’t forget – be sure to thank him for leading you into a glorious destiny!
