21 Day Challenge- Day 1!

What Are You Delighting In?

The 21 Day Challenge begins today! Our desire is to ask God to renew our MIND through reading His Word, BODY through exercising 20 minutes a day and our SOUL as we begin the Daniel Fast and eat primarily fruits and vegetables. I am so fired up to see all that God is going to do in your life and in our church family.

Today’s scripture is Psalm 1-7. I know that may seem like a lot of scripture to read but it only takes about 30 minutes and I’d encourage you to listen to it with an audio Bible as well as read it. This helps me to stay focused and remember more.

Today’s Key Scripture: Psalm 1:1-3

Psalm 1:1-3, Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”

I love ice cream! I don’t eat it often but when I do I go all out. I especially love peanut butter and chocolate ice cream. There’s a little ice cream place out in the country that serves great homemade ice cream during the summer and it’s nothing to drive an hour round trip to get some of that heavenly goodness. But delighting in a lot of that will not be great for my health. But the important question is what are you delighting in above all?

Psalm 1 says that whatever we delight in will impact the results of our life. When we delight in God’s Word we will be like a tree that flourishes by a riverbank. When we delight in God’s Word we will prosper but when delight in things that are not of God the result will be death and destruction.

Take some time today and during the 21 Days to read, meditate on God’s Word. Ask God to give you a hunger and thirst for Him and His Word. Don’t do it to try to make God happy but do it out of your love for an awesome God!

Prayer Focus: Pray and ask God to give you a passion for Him and His Word. Take some time and thank God for all He is going to teach you over the next 21 Days as He renews your Mind, Body and Soul. And then pray for our church family that God will prepare our hearts for all He is going to do over the next 21 days and throughout this year.
