Dave Randlett

Please pray for the family of Dave Randlett who passed away this morning suddenly after having heart surgery. He was a close friend of my parents from the Free Will Baptist days.  He was the only person that I knew when I first went to Liberty University as a 17-year old student and later became a close friend and fellow staff member when I served on staff at TRBC as the Senior High Minister. He was the one who Dr. Jerry Falwell hired to help lead the ministry teams at Liberty University. Before that he was the music department director at Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN.  It was through his vision and ministry that we have Sounds of Liberty, Exodus, YouthQuest, Light and several other groups that travel and minister.

Dave Randlett is also the brother of Doug Randlett who is a special friend, mentor and the uncle of Scott Randlett. Scott served on C3 staff as Minister of Students and is now the campus pastor for Dan River Church of TRBC. Dave ALWAYS had a smile on his face and an encouraging word for me. For many years he has been the Senior Associate Pastor for the late Dr. Jerry Falwell and now Jonathan Falwell. Please join me in praying for the Dave Randlett family, Doug Randlett,  Scott and Tammy Randlett, as well as Pastor Jonathan Falwell and the TRBC team.

This is the second GIANT of the faith that has passed away this week with our friend and Children's Cup founder Dave Ohlerking.  Continue to pray for his wife Jean Ohlerking, and his family Ben and Susan Rodgers, Dan Ohlerking, Joshua Ohlerking, Pastor Dino Rizzo and the Healing Place Church family.  Another reminder for our generation that it's our time to pick up the torch and lead the next generation.   Jeep:OhlerkingsDave Ohlerking & our family on our African safari during our Children's Cup visit in 2008.

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with the Randlett family…This dear man and Christ follower was at the beginning of my Sounds of Liberty journey at LU and imparted wisdom and direction to our team and our director. Trophies in heaven. He sure did love Jesus and had a great smile.

  • Praying for both families today. Thankful for the example they set and praying that we will live with the same heart to share the gospel with the lost.
